Weaving for Beginners
Each session guides beginner students through the weaving process and loom setup through the creation of small samplers for students to explore a variety of basic fabric weaves and build skills to continue weaving on their own. Each level is approximately 10 hours in total and is delivered one-on-one within an agreed-upon timeframe and schedule. Lessons can also be provided in your home if you have a loom (or with the option to rent a table loom for an additional $20).
Weaving Level 1
From winding the warp to setting up your own table loom, the student will create small samples, exploring different weave structures. All equipment and materials are provided, with the option to rent a table loom. Cost $120.
Weaving Level 2
Are you a weaver ready to take on your own project? Choosing an item such as a tea towel or a scarf, the student will learn to plan their weaving project, explore weaving draft patterns, and practice their weaving technique through to completion. The Level 1 session or some weaving experience is required. All equipment and materials are provided, with the option to rent a table loom. Cost $120.
Loom Setup
Keen to invest in your own loom? Whether used or new, and would like advice on which loom to purchase, I will assemble your loom in your home and offer advice on any additional accessories you need. To set-up the loom, a three-hour visit is advisable, $50.
